THE SCOOP | Daniela Nardi directed the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir as Executive Director

Daniela Nardi has been named the new executive director of the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir. His appointment will be effective from March 4, 2024.

Daniela Nardi is an exceptional leader with a unique combination of artistic vision, strategic acumen and community engagement. Jean-Sebastien Vallée, in a statement from the artistic director. “His proven track record of success and passion for choral music make him the perfect person to guide TMChoir in achieving its ambitious goals both on and off the stage. I am delighted to welcome him as a new partner in the TMCoir leadership team.”

Daniela Nardi brings the experience of a three-decade career in the arts and culture sector to her new role. With a passion for music, he has experience in programming, production, marketing, fundraising and strategic planning, making him the right person to guide the choir into the future.

TMC's mandate goes beyond performance to play a role in building and nurturing Toronto's choral community, including its audiences. Nardi's cooperation was crucial to his landing the position.

In addition to his role in music management and organization, he is also a talented artist and a talented musician in his own right. Daniela began studying music at the Royal Conservatory in Toronto at the age of five and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from York University. He has released and recorded albums as a jazz/pop singer-songwriter. With his global jazz project The Espresso Manifestohe toured Canada and Europe.

He served as interim executive director Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra and Choirand he played a crucial role in revitalization 918 Bathurst Center for Arts, Culture, Media and Education. Daniela is the founder and art director Salon CulturaA series of multidisciplinary cultural exchanges between Canada, Italy and its diasporas.

In addition to paid positions, Daniela has volunteered and served on several boards, committees and advisory boards to contribute to Toronto's rich cultural life. participates in such organizations International Society of Performing Arts (ISPA) and Canadian Live Music Association (CLMA).
