The family of the missing man is asking for the public's help in finding him.

Garrett Chesney, 26, last heard from Trout on Jan. 13 in Winnipeg.

Trout, who hails from the Pimicikamak Cree Nation, is described as 5-7 tall, of medium build, with brown hair and brown eyes.

On Tuesday, the Manitoba Keewatinowi Okimakanak held a press conference attended by family members, Pimicikamak Chief David Monias and a band advisor.

An MKO spokeswoman said Trout came to Winnipeg this summer for treatment and had not been in contact with his family for a long time.
