My Man: Caitlin Fitzgerald in Nick Suzuki

MONTREAL – The “C” on the front of Nick Suzuki's jersey says a lot about his character, much of it obvious to fans.

But as the 24-year-old's girlfriend Caitlin Fitzgerald points out, there's more to the Habs captain than publicity.

Back in August, the Canadiens content team caught up with Fitzgerald to talk us through Suzuki, his friendship with Cole Caulfield, the couple's affinity for Montreal and more. brought backstage to tell more about.

How did you guys meet?

We are also from London, Ontario. (…) We got to know each other through mutual friends. He was living out of town playing hockey, but we connected on Instagram and Snapchat back then – 2016 or 2017 – and the rest is history.

What are Nick's best qualities?

He is very compassionate. It is very easy to communicate with him. There's a lot about it in one industry. I think his attitude is one of his greatest qualities. Anything you throw at him, any stressful situation, any unpleasant situation, he always knows how to handle everything and he does it calmly.
