We hear a symphony

You'd think people would have had enough of silly love songs, but our Valentine's Day playlist proves otherwise.

Defense Written by Tim Baker

Our second date, after all the nerves and last minute outfit changes, was the 2022 Tim Baker concert at the Park Theatre. A year later, Tim returned to Winnipeg to play a solo show at the Central Cultural Franco-Manitobain, and you can bet we were front and center.

His music covered our adventures, including going through the Shield, and when we wrote each other a birthday or Christmas card, it usually had a Tim Baker lyric inside. “Once a stranger to me, but now you are a song on my lips.” I love you Allison!

– Jordan Ross

I have two songs. The first was at our wedding in June 1983. My wife Susan insisted Endless love Diana Ross and Lionel Richie. (Not my favorite – I wanted Keep loving you (by REO Speedwagon, but he's right that the songs aren't suitable for weddings.)

We celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary in 2023, a cruise in Ireland and a family holiday in the UK.

Unfortunately, my wife passed away in the fall of 2023 after an incurable brain disease. In celebration of his life, we chose a second song from his favorite artist: Your song Elton John

We even used a phrase from the song and changed one of the words on her memory card: “How wonderful life was when you were here.”

February 14 is also a very special day in our family because it is the day our daughter was born.
