Environmental group raises concerns about mercury in dental fillings

These are known as “silver dental fillings” and are being tested again.

Starting next year, the European Union will ban mercury-laden dental materials, and some say Canada should follow suit.

“Canada has done a really amazing job of getting mercury out of light bulbs, light switches, thermometers. If they can ban it, are they still putting it in our mouths?” Beatrice Olivastri, CEO of Friends of the Earth in Canada, said this in an interview.
