Deceased Manitoba family remembered as 'beautiful souls' – Winnipeg

Five family members killed in Manitoba over the weekend have been remembered as “beautiful souls.”

The obituary identified the victims as Amanda Clearwater and her children, Bethany, Jayven and Isabella Manoakisik. Maya-Lee Gratton, a 17-year-old niece of Clearwater, was also killed in what Manitoba Premier Wab Kinew described as a “dark time” for the province.

The victims were found at three different crime scenes in southern Manitoba on Sunday.

Clearwater's common-law partner Ryan Howard Manoakisik – who is the father of children six, four and two-and-a-half months old – is facing five counts of first-degree murder.
