A pedestrian was seriously injured after being hit by a car in North Montreal

A 55-year-old man was seriously injured after being hit by a car in Montreal North Tuesday evening, police said.

Around 6:20 p.m., police received a 911 call about a car that hit a pedestrian on Henri-Bourassa Boulevard near Desi Avenue.

Arriving at the scene, law enforcement officers found that the man had a serious head injury. He was taken to the hospital, but his condition is unknown.

According to preliminary information gathered by investigators, the man was struck while “crossing the road in an area other than a crosswalk,” police spokeswoman Véronique Dubuque said.

Police temporarily closed part of Henri-Bourassa to investigate the incident.
