Three men have been charged with multiple break-ins and robberies at golf courses in southern Alberta.

COCHRANE – Three people have been charged in connection with several break-ins at Calgary-area golf courses, including Kananaskis Golf Course.

The Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) in Cochrane has charged a 37-year-old Calgary man and a 20-year-old Calgary woman with attempted murder with a firearm, willful discharge of a firearm, theft and breaking and entering for the use of a firearm. firearm during the commission of the offense, according to police.

Several RCMP detachments in its southern Alberta district are investigating break-and-enters at golf courses and other businesses in several counties around Calgary in January and February, according to an RCMP media release. Cochrane CRU handed over the investigation to January 30, 2024, police said.

According to the police, during the investigation, a Volkswagen Jetta car, as well as a man and a woman, were identified.

Cochrane's CRU, as well as officers from the Calgary Police Service and Southern Alberta District CRU, executed a search warrant at a home in northwest Calgary on Feb. 9, police said. Police seized laptops, motorcycles, firearms, Canadian currency and golf equipment. A third woman, who was released on bond, has also been charged, the release said.

Police said their investigation linked the three men to multiple break-ins and included 11 different golf courses, including Kananaskis Country Golf Course and others in Rocky View County, Mountain View County, Foothills County, Tsuutina, Water Valley and Calgary.

All three will appear in court at a later date.
