On February 11, Toronto's Old Mill Inn hosted the first event of the “Unbeatable Together” fundraising tour, a joint effort of the Ukrainian World Congress and the Serhiy Prytula Charitable Foundation.

The Myhal Family Foundation has pledged to match all donations raised during the UWC-Prytula Foundation Joint Charity Tour across six North American cities, as well as online contributions. For every dollar donated, the foundation will match it with its own dollar, up to a maximum of $1,000,000. The funds collected during this event will be used to purchase armored vehicles for safe humanitarian demining in the south of Ukraine.

The president of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress (UCC), Alexandra Chyczyy, moderated the event and emphasized the importance of uniting the efforts of Ukrainians living abroad to help Ukraine overcome its challenges.

In his introductory speech, Chichy said that Ukraine is currently facing a major threat that began on February 24, 2022. Although there was hope that the situation would improve, it still hasn't. He said that the Armed Forces of Ukraine need our help in the current difficult period.

UWC President Paul Grod also emphasized the urgency of the situation and noted that the Ukrainian World Congress and the Serhiy Prytula Foundation have partnered to help Ukrainian defenders.

The event was a dialogue featuring UWC President Paul Grod and Sergey Prytula. Participants were presented with a short video clip and participated in a question-and-answer session. The discussion covered a variety of topics, including the volunteer movement, support for the Ukrainian armed forces, and the latest developments on the front lines.

The president of the Ukrainian World Congress thanked all the donors and supporters of Ukraine. Grod discussed the beginning of the UWC initiative “United with Ukraine” and outlined its goals and areas of focus. “Since the attack began, we have purchased bulletproof vests, helmets, thermal imaging cameras and first aid kits to help those on the front lines. However, needs have changed and we are working with the Armed Forces to understand what is most needed. “We are buying armored vehicles, drones and other necessary equipment to help with the evacuation,” Grod said.

The following events will take place on the following dates: February 12 in Ottawa, February 14 in Montreal, February 15 in New York, February 16 in Philadelphia and February 18 in Chicago. Tickets for all events are available at unitewithukraine.com/events. Admission to events is provided in exchange for a donation.
