The month of love My Calgary

February still comes with freezing temperatures and all you can think about is that special someone in your life.

The month of love usually celebrates those in romantic relationships. But it doesn't have to be like that. It can also celebrate love for a sibling, parent, caregiver, friend, child, or other family member. The month of love should really celebrate the love we share with all people, because love is the origin of humanity.

Don't limit your love to just one person. Love gives meaning to our lives. Without it, we struggle with life's challenges, such as loneliness. Love is universal and can be extended to anyone regardless of gender, race, nationality or ethnicity. Don't let preconceived notions and prejudices limit you from life-changing love. Open yourself up to all of humanity and see how your life will be transformed into unconditional happiness.

As Nelson Mandela once said, love comes more naturally to the human heart than hate. We should not judge others because of who they love. We cannot change the person we love because it comes naturally to the heart and is difficult to change. If we judge those we love because they are different from us or the people we love, it is because we have been taught not to love, because we have been forced to see the differences in others. It brings more isolation in one's life.

For this month of love (and possibly your entire life), open your heart to others. Celebrate the differences that make each person a unique creature in this world we share. Learn to love and you will see that the other person's happiness is essential to your own happiness.
