Russell Peters and Iliza Schlesinger headline Calgary's biggest comedy festival

One of Canada's biggest comedy events is back in Calgary this summer and two legendary names are joining the lineup.

The great outdoor comedy festival takes over Princes Island Park from Friday, August 23 to Sunday, August 25. Comedy fans will want to grab tickets when the general public goes on sale Friday, Feb. 16 at 10 a.m.

New headliners are Russell Peters on Friday, August 23 and Iliza Schlesinger on Sunday, August 25. They will join Tom Segura's announced performance on Saturday, August 24, whose show tickets are on sale now.

Canadian comedy icon Russell Peters was born in Toronto and raised in Brampton. Recently, one of them was named Rolling StoneTop 50 comics of all time and performed worldwide.

Peters has set records at venues such as Madison Square Garden and the Sydney Opera House, and became the first comedian to sell out the Air Canada Center in his hometown. He also set a UK record for the most tickets sold for a solo comedy show at London's O2 arena.

Iliza Schlesinger was the winner on NBC The Ultimate Comic Book Place in 2008, and has since continued to host the syndicated dating show I am sorryTBS game show Separation anxietyand his late-night talk show on Freeform called Truth and Iliza.

Fair gems and Crank Yankers star has produced and produced six Netflix comedies Iliza Schlesinger's sketch show for streaming service.

Also performing at The Great Outdoors Comedy Festival in August is Hannah Berner (DiversityTop 10 Comics to Watch in 2023), Zarna Gregg (Austin Film Festival Best Comedy and Ladies of Laughter), Stephen Ho (comedy and content creator), Trent McLellan (It is 22 minutes long), and Malik Elassal (Calgary's rising viral comedy star).
