More salads recalled at No Frills, Food Basics, other stores News

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is warning grocery shoppers about more lettuce recalls at the country's most popular grocery stores.

Less than a week after a salad kit recall affecting Costco, No Frills and other big-name stores, the CFIA says more salad kits are being pulled from shelves because of possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination.

This time, Dole brand salad kits and another President's Choice brand salad kit are being recalled.

Dole's Chop Kit – Avocado Ranch and Suprême Kit – Southwestern Salad are being recalled. Here are the affected products:

Metro spokeswoman Stephanie Bonk confirmed that Dole salads have been removed from Metro and Food Basics stores, while Sobeys spokeswoman Tshani Jaja said “all products related to this recall have been removed from our warehouses” and added that Sobeys-owned Voila has been notified of the recall. warehouse.

Loblaw Companies Limited has confirmed that the President's Choice Salad Pack is now available at Real Canadian Superstore, Fortinos, Loblaw, Valu-Mart, Your Independent Grocer, Zehrs, No Frills, Affiliate, Wholesale Club, BOX and Shoppers Drug Mart in Ontario.

According to a Loblaw spokesperson, “Customers who purchased the affected product (at Loblaw-owned locations) are encouraged to follow the instructions in the recall notice and return the affected products for a refund.”

The CFIA advises consumers to contact their doctor if they think they have become ill from eating the recalled products and to have the products recalled.

“Do not consume, serve, use, sell or distribute the recalled products,” the Food Recall Notice states. “Returned products must be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.”

The CFIA says the recall is again related to the U.S. investigation into the outbreak Listeria Infections associated with dairy products produced by Rizo Lopez Foods.

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) says, “Check your refrigerators and freezers for recalled products and dispose of them.” “If you freeze a product without its original packaging and you can't tell if it's part of the recall, throw it away.”

There have been 26 cases, 23 hospitalizations and two deaths in the U.S. to date, according to the FDA.
