Winnipeg Traffic: Fires will cause road closures Monday morning

Winnipeg drivers may have some disruptions to their commute Monday morning as a pair of fires caused road closures in the city.

One of the fires was at a commercial building in the 1000 block of Keewatin Street.

According to the Winnipeg Traffic Management Center (TMC), Keewatin is closed in both directions between Inkster Boulevard and Church Avenue.

A number of emergency crews are working at the scene, firefighters are using aerial ladders to extinguish the flames.

Residents are asked to avoid the area and expect traffic delays Monday morning.

The second fire is in two vacant homes in the 400 block of Elgin Avenue.

Winnipeg Fire Paramedics closed Elgin between Isabel Street and Ellen Street due to this fire.

Winnipeggers should expect the closure to remain in place through the morning.
