Toronto weather: A cold week ahead

Toronto is transitioning back into winter after a long stretch of mild weather last week.

“We're starting to slowly move toward seasonal conditions,” CP24 meteorologist Bill Coulter said Monday.

“After a calm and comfortable start to the work week, Tuesday will bring wet rain and snow on Thursday, ultimately leading to below-normal temperatures next weekend.”

On Friday, Toronto broke an 86-year-old record with temperatures above 13 degrees.

The city has had an unseasonably warm winter so far, but normal temperatures will return this week.

Temperatures in Toronto will rise to 3 degrees today, drop to 2 degrees on Tuesday, and drop to 0 degrees on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Daytime highs on Saturday are expected to drop below freezing, reaching -3 degrees at the warmest point of the day.
