The Moose Jaw Warriors beat the Calgary Hitmen 5-2

Calgary beat Moose Jaw on Saturday afternoon, but the Warriors were outscored by the Hitmen 5-2 in matinee action at the Saddledome.

This is the fourth annual Every Child Matters, an event presented by Siksika Health Services, Calgary Aboriginal Friendship Centre, Blackfoot Confederation, First Nations Health Consortium and Siksika Family Services.

The game is aimed at empowering the next generation of Indigenous youth through sport and the Hitmen wore unique orange jerseys.

Brandon Gorzynski and Maksim Muranov scored for the Hitmen, but Brayden Schuurman, Cosmo Wilson, Rylen Kovacevic, Kalem Parker and Brayden Yager scored for the Warriors.

The Hitmen defeated the Warriors 37-35 that day.

Calgary now embarks on a five-game road trip that begins Tuesday at Red Deer, where they face the Rebels at 7 p.m.
