East of the Ontario Legislative Assembly building in Queen's Park in downtown Toronto are a series of buildings that provide office space for many of the provincial government's ministries. Clustered at the southwest corner of Wellesley and Bay Streets is a group of these ministerial office buildings known as the MacDonald Block Complex. Completed in 1971, the four towers rising from the podium of the Macdonald block were outdated and in need of thorough renovation, so they were all closed, and the ministries relocated for a period of about 8 years, while the buildings were completely renovated. Although no reopening date has yet been announced, the scaffolding is now out and completion is nearing. In this night shot by UrbanToronto forum member yrt+viva=1system, we see new ceilings being built and lighting being installed.
