“There's been some talk about another team that really looks like Buffalo right now and what they're thinking. One thing I hear about the Sabers is that they are looking for help now.

They want to improve their team now, and when it comes to deals, they can. Ron.

The Toronto Maple Leafs GM was among the crowd watching Sabers-Blues yesterday

Michael Augello of Hockey News: The Buffalo Sabers could be sellers with pending UFAs that could be of interest, and there is some speculation surrounding center Casey Mittelstadt.

Not counting the local scouts who attend almost all of the Sabers games, there were 10 teams watching the St. Louis Blues yesterday.

The most interesting of the attendees was Toronto Maple Leafs GM Brad Treliving with the scout. The Vancouver Canucks had a pair of scouts watching.

The Maple Leafs are looking for help up front and on the blue line. The Canucks are looking for a defenseman.

Also watching the Sabers next month and not playing were the Boston Bruins, Dallas Stars, Edmonton Oilers, New Jersey Devils, Ottawa Senators, Vegas Golden Knights and Washington Capitals.

Is Doug Armstrong in the running for Team Canada?

Ron McLean: Who will lead Team Canada? This is a question you can answer.

Friedman: “…. But, you know, Bill Guerin was announced for Team USA yesterday. Right now, Team Canada, there's no time to do that. Remember, Doug Armstrong was supposed to leave the Olympic team in 2022. He was forced to resign when NHL players withdrew from the tournament. No confirmation or anything like that, but I was wondering if Armstrong would get another chance. I was told a good prediction, but nothing has been confirmed at this time.
