Calgary police investigating fatal pedestrian collision – Calgary

Calgary police are investigating a collision that killed a pedestrian Saturday night.

The incident happened around 6:30 p.m. near 162nd Avenue and 24th Street in the southwest of the city.

According to the police, the pedestrian was hit near the crosswalk and taken to the hospital, where he later died of his injuries.

The driver of the bus remained at the scene after the collision with the shelter.

The traffic recovery team, along with the Calgary Police Service, took over the investigation.

Police have not released other details about the pedestrian, but alcohol, drugs and speed are not believed to be factors in the investigation.
