Woman killed in collision with snowplow on Quebec highway

A woman died in a crash Saturday in Crabtree, Lanaudière, about an hour northeast of Montreal.

At 10:30 a.m., emergency services responded to a three-vehicle crash on Route 158 near Archambault Road.

“One vehicle veered out of its lane for an unknown reason and hit a snowplow coming in the opposite lane. Then, after the first collision, the third vehicle was hit by the first vehicle,” said Sergeant Catherine Bernard, spokeswoman for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ). .

The driver of the car, which veered off the lane, suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the snowplow lost his nerve, and two passengers of the third car were slightly injured.

SQ recovery specialists were sent to the scene to analyze the crash.

Route 158, which was closed at Chemin Archambault, has now reopened.
