Woman dies after being hit by a snowplow in Lanaudière

A woman died in a crash in Crabtree, Quebec's Lanaudière region on Saturday.

At 10:30 a.m., emergency services responded to a three-vehicle crash on Route 158 near Archambault Road.

One car left its lane for an unknown reason and collided with a snow plow coming from the opposite lane. After the first collision, a third car was hit by the first car, said Sgt. Catherine Bernard.

The driver of the car, which veered off the lane, was seriously injured and taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the snowplow lost his nerve, and two passengers of the third car were slightly injured. SQ recovery specialists were dispatched to analyze the scene.

Route 158 was closed at Chemin Archambault but has since reopened.
