Thorncliffe restaurant destroyed by early morning 2-alarm fire

A restaurant suffered major damage after a two-alarm fire in Thorncliffe on Saturday morning.

Toronto firefighters encountered heavy flames and smoke coming from Watan Pizza & Grill on Overlea Boulevard at Thorncliffe Park Drive around 5:45 a.m.

Officials said several employees were inside the restaurant at the time of the fire, but all were able to get out safely and no one was injured.

Investigators were mobilized to determine the origin and cause of the fire.
