The Senators held onto the Maple Leafs, winning for the 3rd straight time

Joonas Korpisalo made 32 saves for the Senators (21-25-2), who won the third game. They haven't played since January 31st.

Auston Matthews scored his 42nd NHL goal, Matthew Nice had a goal and an assist and Mitchell Marner had two assists for the Maple Leafs (26-16-8), who won four of five goals. Martin Jones made 28 saves in his first start since Jan. 20.

Matthews, who also had an assist, gave Toronto a 1-0 lead on a late penalty at 3:45 of the first period with a sharp angled shot from Marner. The goal extended his point streak to nine games (15 points; nine goals, six assists).

The Maple Leafs thought they had a 2-0 lead at 7:59 when Domi hit a center pass, but the Senators appealed for offside and the on-ice call was overturned.

Claude Giroux tied the score at 1:1 at 17:53. He took the ball forward, waited for Jones and scored with a backhand.

At 2:04 of the second period, Vladimir Tarasenko gave Ottawa a 2-1 lead when he took a straight pass from Pinto at the Toronto blue line and beat Jones with a layup.

Knize tied the score at 2-2 at 9:43 with a turnover on Marner's point.

Pinto gave the Senators a 3-2 lead at 11:13 when he scooped up Parker Kelly's rebound.

Josh Norris made it 4-2 at 15:13. He knocked down a clearance attempt from Toronto, drove the puck into the left circle and scored with a wrist shot to the far side.

Max Domi cut it to 4-3 at 5:12 of the third period, turning in a center pass from Morgan Rielly.

Ridley Greig scored an empty net goal for the 5-3 final at 19:54.
