The Montreal Canadiens suffered another serious injury

The Montreal Canadiens have suffered more injuries than anyone over the last two seasons. They revamped their medical team in the offseason in hopes of fewer long-term injuries.

The situation in 2023-24 was not as bad as the previous two seasons, but the Canadiens players were not spared either. It took a game and a half before the serious injury, as Kirby Dutch had been sidelined since the second game of the season.

We also saw Alex Newhook suffer a serious injury earlier this season and it caused him to miss 27 games. David Savard, Tanner Pearson, Jordan Harris and Arber Hekaid missed time with injuries but have since returned. Christian Dvorak is shut down and will not play again this season and we have yet to see Chris Wideman put on a hockey uniform this season.

However, it was much better than the last two seasons and we saw the return of Alex Newhook to the lineup today, leaving only Dach, Dvorak and Wideman on the injured list.

Unfortunately, it looks like Raphael Harvey-Pinard will be moved to injured reserve next. He collided with Joel Armia at center ice today against the Dallas Stars and it looked nasty.

The army supported Harvey-Pinard, who did not expect such a relationship. He fell awkwardly, his right knee seemingly bent inward, which was not the direction. He had to be helped off the ice and did not return to the game.

Shortly after the game, the Canadiens called up Joshua Roy from the Laval Rockets. They play the St. Louis Blues tomorrow afternoon, so they needed to fill a roster spot quickly. This suggests that Harvey-Pinard is out with a long-term injury, but an official announcement is not expected until tomorrow.
