In Toronto, you can get a taste of the wedding without actually getting married

Fortunately, some TikTok users with big dreams and smart thinking have come up with a solution – wedding cake sample boxes.

Best of all, you don't have to be married to get your hands on it.

If you're worried that bakeries won't be happy to buy a non-wedding cake model, don't be.

Manal Bashir Pastry Co. company's Manal Bashir says the trend isn't as new as you might think.

“It used to be 10-15 years ago and now people are posting about it on TikTok. We're living in really interesting times,” he says.

While this isn't an entirely new concept, it does confirm that the store has seen an influx of people buying sample boxes just for fun over the past few years. He was determined to use the trend to positively impact his business practices.

“I think this trend is disappointing and frustrating for some cake shops,” he admits. “However, it has helped us turn around … most of our custom cakes now ordered are a direct result of (the sample boxes).”

If you're looking for an expert to whip up a delicious selection, Rolling Pin Bakery has curated four different flavor-based sample boxes.

For $24.95, you can choose from four boxes: Classic Flavor, Savory Flavor, Dinner Remix Flavor, and Everything But.

Co-owner Vanessa Baudanza explains that she created the boxes because she saw so many adventurous couples in the wedding sample process. They wanted to make boxes for every type of couple.

“We're like an adventurous couple…they might like our Party Remix box. There's a lot of fun great flavors like peanut butter, cookie dough or s'mores. And the couple likes the 'classic' look. The 'plain Jane' box.”

He says curated flavor boxes translate well to this trend, allowing people to decide what flavor they want.
