Guanacaste Aeropuerto, a member of the VINCI Airports network, announces the extension of the Canadian route from Montreal (YUL) to Guanacaste (LIR) operated by Air Transat, starting Thursday, May 2.
There will be two weekly flights on this route on Thursday and Sunday. The flight departs Montreal Trudeau International Airport (YUL) at 07:30 and arrives in Guanacaste (LIR) at 11:30. Air Transat will operate A321 aircraft with a capacity of 198 seats.
Air Transat operates this route only during the Canadian winter season (November – April). However, with the extension of this route, passengers will now have the opportunity to visit the destination at any time of the year.
According to the latest figures from the Costa Rica Tourism Institute, 242,970 Canadian tourists will arrive by air in 2023. Their average stay is 14.8 nights, and the average cost of their stay in the country is $106 per day.
