A pedestrian who was hit by a car in Scarborough on Friday night has died in hospital: police

An elderly man has died from his injuries after being hit by a car in Scarborough on Friday evening.

Toronto police say the collision happened at Milner and Morningside avenues, just south of Sheppard Avenue East, around 9:30 p.m.

Police officers who arrived at the scene found the pedestrian unconscious. He was taken to a trauma center with life-threatening injuries.

Police confirmed the man died in hospital on Saturday morning.

According to the police, the driver of the car remained at the scene.

An investigation is underway.
