A pedestrian was killed after a hit-and-run driver in Scarborough on Friday evening, Toronto police said.

Officers were called to the collision in the area of ​​Milner and Morningside avenues, south of East Sheppard Avenue, around 9:30 p.m.

When police arrived, they found an unconscious man who had been hit by a driver. He was taken to a trauma center with life-threatening injuries.

Investigators say he died at the hospital from his injuries. No other information about the victim has been released at this time.

The driver remained at the scene, police said.

The incident is under active investigation.
