Toronto woman seriously injured after dog attack: police

A woman was attacked and dragged to the ground by two dogs at a bus stop in Toronto that changed her life, police say.

Toronto police say officers responded to the area of ​​Martin Grove Road and John Garland Boulevard, south of Finch Avenue on the city's west side, for an animal complaint on Wednesday around 8:39 p.m.

Police say the woman was waiting at a bus stop when two dogs approached her without a leash or owner present.

The dogs, which may have been pit bull terriers or similar breeds, began attacking the woman and she tried to defend herself with a shopping cart, police said.

Police said the woman was dragged to the ground as the dogs continued to attack her.

He was able to find safety in a passing car.

“Another passerby followed the dogs and saw the dogs attack the bicyclist and attempt to attack a resident in his yard and a TTC Wheel-trans operator who managed to close the doors in time,” police said.

The woman was taken to a hospital with serious, life-changing injuries, police said. His injuries are not life-threatening, officers added.

Investigators are now trying to identify the dogs and their owner because of “public safety concerns.”

Officers released a photo and described both dogs as black and white with a “large build.”
