The plane made an emergency landing in Montreal after smoke was detected on board

A Delta flight from New York City to Montreal made an emergency landing on Friday, February 9, after smoke was reported on board.

In a statement to Storyful, Delta's flight crew declared an emergency, but the flight landed at Montreal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport without incident or injury. Passengers were evacuated to the tarmac “out of an abundance of caution” and later boarded buses, they said.

“Now the cause of the incident is being investigated. We apologize to our customers for the inconvenience,” added the airline.
