The Flames Foundation has donated more than $400,000 in the community

The Flames Foundation will distribute more than $400,000 in donations this month as part of the Flames Foundation grant application program, CSEC Inclusion program and commitment to help build accessible playgrounds and outdoor rinks in southern Alberta.

Outdoor ice rink and playground projects in partnership with the Park Foundation

• Calgary Flames Rink Award – Sandstone McEwan Association (SMCA) Hockey Rink Replacement.

• Calgary Flames Playground Award – Haultain Memorial School Playground Remodel.

Community Support Donation

• Education Partnership Fund – Books for Schools Eligible for Share

• Police Youth Foundation – Powerplay Hockey Program

• Corps Services – Vacation Program

• Mustard Seed Fund – School Lunch Program

• CUPS Calgary Society – Playground Project

• 1616 Ladd Foundation – Mental health program for minor hockey teams

• Cornerstone Youth Foundation – Youth Enrichment Programs

• Muscular Dystrophy Canada – Children's Equipment Program

• Asthma in Canada – Childhood Asthma Program

• Medicine Hat News Santa Claus Fund – Food Voucher Program

• Camp Quality Canada is a camp for children with cancer

• Redcliff Action Society for Youth – Recreational programming

• Siksika Family Services – health and wellness programming

• Magic of Christmas – help with the holiday campaign

CSEC Addition Program

• Adaptive Outdoor Recreation Society – adaptive kayaks and hiking equipment

• Vecova Center – adapted sports equipment

• Paralympic Sports Association – sleds for sled hockey

• Wheelchair Sports AB – support of wheelchair sports tournament

• Start2Finish Canada is a running and training program for BIPOC youth

The Flames Foundation annually makes donations to CRA registered charities in southern Alberta through a quarterly review process in addition to commitments to programs supported by the Flames Foundation.

Annual commitments include community improvement projects focused on pump tracks, ice rinks and playgrounds, 10 years of support for the Flames YMCA 6th Grade Membership Program, and long-term and annual support to remove barriers to participation and promote participation in hockey and sports. Rotary Flames House, HEROS, SuperHEROS and Hockey Calgary programs, as well as Flames school programs, including supporting scholarships and athletics at post-secondary institutions in southern Alberta.

The Flames Foundation strives to improve the lives of southern Albertans by supporting health and wellness, education and grassroots sports. Since its inception, the Flames Foundation has worked to help children play and thrive and has donated more than $60 million to Southern Alberta charities.
