Rob Lurie | CTV News

Rob Lurie studied business in school, but fell in love with media while listening to late-night talk radio shows. He quit his job selling investments at a bank and began working as a traffic reporter before moving to hosting talk shows on CIQC and CJAD radio in 1993. In 1997, Lurie moved into television to join CTV.

During her career in the media, Lurie covered some of Montreal's biggest events, including the 1995 referendum, the Ice Storm, the Biker Wars, several high-profile court cases and several elections. He also hosted several world leaders who visited Montreal, including former US presidents Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter; Lech Walesa from Poland and Ehud Barak from Israel. In 2008, Lurie won the prestigious RTDNA Award for Central Canada for his “Campaign Trail” election series.

A native of Montreal, Lurie attended Dawson College, Concordia University and McGill University. In his free time, he enjoys boating, hiking, and country vacations. Lurie is a fitness enthusiast, outdoorsman, and bad tennis player.
