Nick Gordon to enter salary arbitration with Minnesota Twins – Winnipeg Free Press

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) – Nick Gordon entered arbitration with the Minnesota Twins on Friday and asked for a salary increase from $735,400 to $1.25 million as the team demanded $900,000.

Decisions by Jasbir Parmer, Scott Buchheit and Keith Greenberg are expected Saturday.

Gordon, a 28-year-old outfielder, second baseman and shortstop, hit .185 with two homers and seven RBIs in 34 games last season, down from .272 with nine homers and 50 RBIs over 136 games in 2022.

He broke his right tibia on May 17 when he was hit by a pitch from Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Dylan Covey. Gordon was sidelined until September 15, when he was assigned to Triple-A St. Paul began a six-game rehab assignment with the team.

He has a .250 batting average with 15 homers and 80 RBI in three seasons with the Twins.

The players lead teams 7-2 in salary arbitration, with the final six cases scheduled to be heard next week.

Second baseman Jonathan India and the Cincinnati Reds have agreed to a two-year, $8.8 million contract for the 2021 NL rookie next week, avoiding an arbitration hearing.
