Chemical attack suspect may have gone missing in Thames, UK police report – Winnipeg Free Press

LONDON (AP) — The suspect in a London chemical attack that hospitalized a woman with life-changing injuries and injured her two young daughters has disappeared into the River Thames, police said Friday.

Metropolitan Police Commander John Savell said CCTV footage showed Abdul Ezedi walking on the bridge over the river but never leaving it. Although investigators did not find the body, they concluded that he had “drown.”

“At this time of year the Thames is flowing very fast, very wide and full of dams,” Savell told reporters. “If it went underwater, it's very likely that it won't be seen for a month, and it's unlikely that it will ever surface.”
