Dr. Jacobson's commitment extends beyond academia; it contributes to wellness clinics in First Nations communities and supports free trap, neuter, vaccinate, rehoming services for community cats through Toronto Street Cats. Dr. Jacobson says of her aspirations: “I want to see a world where every animal can behave in the natural way of its species, and where they all receive the medical and other care they need. I want to see a world where animal shelters are only needed by the small percentage of animals that cannot be helped in any other way, and no animal stays in a facility for more than a few days.”
