Celebrating Excellence: Dr. Linda Jacobson is the recipient of the OVMA Distinguished Veterinary Medicine Award

His involvement spans numerous boards and committees, including editorial roles for the Journal of Feline Medicine and Surgery and the Journal of Shelter Medicine and Community Animal Health. With 48 published articles, his research spans veterinary internal medicine and infectious diseases, addressing topics such as ringworm diagnosis, the impact of heartworm on marginalized communities, and the treatment of middle ear infections in domesticated cats.

Dr. Jacobson's commitment extends beyond academia; it contributes to wellness clinics in First Nations communities and supports free trap, neuter, vaccinate, rehoming services for community cats through Toronto Street Cats. His diverse contributions reflect his dedication to improving veterinary care and community well-being.

Dr. Jacobson says of her aspirations: “I want to see a world where every animal can behave in the natural way of its species, and where they all receive the medical and other care they need. I want to see a world where animal shelters are only needed by the small percentage of animals that cannot be helped in any other way, and no animal stays in a facility for more than a few days.”
