TORONTO – The Toronto Marlies picked up their 20th win of the American Hockey League season on Friday thanks to a Cape Breton hockey player.

Glace Bay's Logan Shaw scored three times to complete a natural hat trick as the Marys downed the visiting Laval Rockets 6-1 at Toronto's Coca-Cola Coliseum.

The 31-year-old Shaw, the Marley captain, opened the scoring on the power play four minutes into the game. He would score at 10:32 of the second period and again late in the third period.

In his second season with the Marlies, Shaw has 19 goals and 33 points in 39 games this season. He scored 21 goals and 69 points in 69 games in the 2022-23 season.

Shaw leads the team in scoring (19) and is third in team scoring behind only Alex Steves (18 goals and 38 points) and Joseph Blandisi (12 goals and 38 points).

The Marlies continue the regular season on Saturday in Toronto when they take on the Rockets at 5:00 PM ET.
