Manitoba RCMP say icy road conditions played a role in Thursday afternoon's fatal two-vehicle crash on Highway 4.

Police responded to the collision about half a kilometer west of St Peter Dynevor Bridge in St Andrews at around 2.30pm.

According to police, the driver of a delivery van traveling southbound on Highway 4 lost control due to icy conditions and collided with a northbound vehicle.

The 63-year-old male driver of the van and the 68-year-old male driver of the passenger vehicle were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A 69-year-old female passenger in the northbound vehicle died at the scene.

Selkirk RCMP are continuing to investigate.
