A pedestrian who was hit by a car in Scarborough on Friday night has been pronounced dead: police

An elderly man has died from his injuries after being hit by a car in Scarborough on Friday evening.

Toronto police say the collision happened at Milner and Morningside avenues, just south of Sheppard Avenue East, around 9:30 p.m.

Police officers who arrived at the scene found the pedestrian unconscious. He was rushed to the trauma center.

Police confirmed the man died in hospital on Saturday morning.

According to the police, the driver of the car remained at the scene.

An investigation is underway.
