A man was found dead in an apartment building in the city center

The Winnipeg Police Service's homicide unit is investigating after a 19-year-old man was found dead inside an apartment building in the 300 block of Assiniboine Avenue.

Members of the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service who were on the scene found the deceased in the hallway.

Police say the death is suspicious and is being treated as a homicide.

The victim has been identified as River Harper of Winnipeg.
