At the 2024 FIS Snowboard Halfpipe World Cup, February 9-10, nearly 50 of the world's best snowboarders will shred the pack at the Snow Rodeo in Calgary.

Alberta government officials noted that the season finale for the world's best snowboarders will be held at WinSport, Canada's only World Cup-level halfpipe. Organizers say Alberta will be on display to the world with the competition broadcast in 80 countries, further cementing the province's position as the world's premier winter sports hub.

Provincial officials estimate the world championships will inject $12.1 million into Calgary's economy, bring people to local businesses and restaurants, and draw about 1,000 spectators to Canada Olympic Park for the two-day event. Canada Olympic Park is described as an international staple of the world's winter sports community, having hosted numerous international ski and snowboard competitions, bobsleigh and the 1988 Winter Olympics.

“Calgary is a great place to race,” says Tourism and Sport Minister Joseph Shaw. “The amazing infrastructure of WinSport and the warm hospitality of the city should leave an unforgettable impression on the athletes on the world stage. We're ready to put on our best World Championship yet and put Alberta on the map as the best place on the FIS circuit.”
