5 Events for Lunar New Year 2024 in Toronto

The Lunar New Year is upon us, and what better way to celebrate the Year of the Dragon than by joining the festivities taking place in Toronto.

In Chinese culture, the dragon represents strength, luck and fortune, which is expected to bring new opportunities and challenges in 2024. So, break out the red envelopes, put on your best clothes, and get ready to celebrate, because Chinese New Year is all about family unity and good fortune.

Here are five events to take part in in the GTA to celebrate Chinese New Year.

Celebrating the Lunar New Year 2024

Toronto's Chinatown BIA is hosting a massive festival for the city's Chinese community at Chinatown Center and Dragon City Mall. Over the weekend, thousands of visitors of all ages and backgrounds gather to commemorate Chinese heritage and engage in cultural activities such as song and dance performances. The free event runs from February 10 to 11 and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

New Year's Eve 2024 at Pacific Mall

This year, Pacific Mall organized a number of events and programs for the New Year. Its show schedule includes lion dances, Chinese drumming, traditional dances, an immersive market, lucky draw and more. included. The opening ceremony will begin at noon on February 10.

New Year's Eve at Cadillac Fairview Mall

Cadillac Fairview invites guests to three shopping centers in the GTA for New Year's Eve events from February 10-18. Visitors to CF Markville, CF Fairview Mall and CF Toronto Eaton Center can enjoy beautiful photo backdrops and traditional live music. Other cultural performances such as Chinese instruments and martial arts, Chinese dances and traditional eye-catching ceremonies, etc.

Yeh Hong Dragon Ball

The Yee Hong Dragon Ball is an annual benefit gala for the Yee Hong Community Wellness Foundation that combines philanthropy with Chinese New Year celebrations. According to organizers, this is one of the largest Chinese events in North America. This year's Dragon Ball will celebrate 35 years of fundraising. The event will take place on February 10 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.

Lunar New Year Dragon

For the Lunar New Year, the Pinot Palette has chosen a dragon for the next painting session on February 10th. Guests are invited to come and build their own dragon from 2:30pm to 5:00pm. Tickets are $45 per guest and guests are invited. Please arrive 15 minutes early to prepare.
