“The overall vision for the home was contemporary vintage with elements inspired by nature,” said Alex Scott, show home designer for Trico.

“Of all the features in this home, I love the Emtek French Gold Antique Door Hardware. This rich color theme is consistently integrated into the overall design, appearing not only in the light fixtures, but also in the cabinet hardware and various accessories. In addition, unique plank details enhance the aesthetics found in the kitchen island surround, fireplace details and upstairs unit.

The home is within walking distance to beautiful Fish Creek Provincial Park.

“We are honored to contribute to STARS and their vital efforts that benefit Albertans every day,” said Michael Brown, president and CEO of Trico Residential. “Our ongoing partnership with STARS demonstrates our commitment to making a positive impact on the communities we serve.”

This year's sweepstakes includes an Edmonton home by Concept Homes and a Lethbridge home by Van Arbor Homes.

For anyone who likes to host meetings, the riverfront is set to be a great treat. Each gathering area is spacious, bright and full of visual interest.

This great room includes a rectangular fireplace and three lighted art niches.

Directly across from this space is the kitchen, where local chefs are happy to hang out.

Its well-proportioned island has storage and plenty of space to spread out ingredients while you're cooking. The island has a sink for three and carries a fireplace on one side.

This design concept is also used on the second level, separating the desk area and two second bedrooms from the staircase.

The kitchen has a full height backsplash, hood vent and other appliance choices are top notch.

The layout of the kitchen in relation to the great room makes it easy for people in both spaces to make eye contact and carry on a conversation.

Adjacent to the great room is a large home office with glass walls on three sides. While this creates the necessary boundary, it also brings in sunlight from multiple angles, eliminating any concerns about an illuminated workspace. This space is furnished with a table, chairs and cabinets.

As mentioned above, the location of the house makes it easy to take long trips in the fresh air. This may even include a dog. To answer those days when your four-legged friend is ready to control the mud and dirt around the house, there is a tiled dog wash in the mudroom.

On the second level, the master bedroom is on one side and two secondary bedrooms are on the other side. Few things are as satisfying on a frosty evening as the warm glow of a fireplace. In the master, a rectangular fireplace is integrated into the wall facing the foot of the bed.

Enclosed by elegant barn doors, the master suite creates an upscale escape. A large and luxurious full-height tiled shower encased in glass is the star.

It also boasts a luxury bath under the window and a vanity with two sinks. There is plenty of space between the sinks, which creates elbow room when two people are getting ready at the same time.

The bathroom is attached to a closet large enough to function as a dressing room.

There is a bonus room off the master, but it is set back from the children's bedrooms. This allows parents to stay up later and stream their favorite show without disturbing the volume on the TV.

A glass enclosure and windows on several walls help diffuse natural light in the bonus room area.

In the finished basement, the homeowners can keep themselves in the exercise studio. There is also a fourth bedroom, a lounge with a walk-in bar and a separate dining room.
