Scotty Barnes is a star after all.

Barnes was removed from the All-Star reserve list last Thursday, but on Tuesday he was selected as an injury replacement along with Atlanta guard Trae Young, making him the ninth different Raptor to make the All-Star Game.

Barnes also rotates

Youngest Raptors star since Chris Bosh.

Recently transferred forward Pascal Siakam replaced the All-Stars last season.

Barnes, the 2021-22 NBA Rookie of the Year, is averaging career-best 20.2 points, 8.1 rebounds, 5.8 assists, 1.5 blocks and 1.2 steals this season and is 36 from three-point range. 5% hit. 28% last season.

Barnes became the face of the franchise in Toronto following the trades of Siakam and OG Anunabi and the departure of former star Fred VanVleet in free agency.

Toronto's poor record, now 17-33, was the main reason Barnes was initially left off the roster.

With starter Joel Embiid and reserve Julius Randle out for the game in Indianapolis, Barnes and Young received a call from NBA commissioner Adam Silver.

The East's other reserves were big men Bam Adebayo and Paolo Banchero, wings Jaylen Brown and Donovan Mitchell and guards Jalen Brunson and Tyrese Maxey.

Embiid, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Tyrese Haliburton (who is also injured), Damian Lillard and Jayson Tatum were previously named starters.

In the West, Nikola Jokic, LeBron James, Luka Doncic, Kevin Durant and Canadian Shai Gilgeous-Alexander were voted as starters.

Devin Booker, Stephen Curry, Anthony Davis, Kawhi Leonard, Anthony Edwards, Paul George and Karl-Anthony Towns were named reserves.
