Toronto could break its temperature record on Friday

Toronto could see a record warm day on Friday as the city continues to experience unseasonably warm weather.

The city is expected to reach 7 degrees today, not enough to beat the record of 9 degrees set in 1990. However, Environment Canada is predicting a high of 12 degrees on Friday. If achieved, it would surpass the city's record of 10.6 degrees in 1938.

On average, the highest temperature in Toronto on February 9 will be -1.8 C and the lowest temperature will be -10.4 C.

This season, the winter was warmer than average, especially with less snow.

The city is a mix of sun and clouds today. Rain is expected tonight, with temperatures dropping to 6 degrees overnight, with showers or showers expected to continue into Friday.

A fog warning was in effect early Thursday as dense, flat fog blanketed parts of the GTA.

“Due to fog, black ice may form in regions with temperatures below 00 degrees. “Drivers should be careful,” the report said.

The fog warning has since been lifted.

Saturday will be cold, but still warm for this time of year, with a high of 7 C and a low of -4 C. Then Sunday will see a mix of sun and cloud, rising to 3C.
