Sheriff's deputies surround stray kangaroo near pool at Florida apartment complex – Winnipeg Free Press

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) – Sheriff's deputies rescued a kangaroo Thursday after spotting it jumping in the pool of a Florida apartment complex.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office released video and photos of the kangaroo, including some helicopter footage. The agency also released audio of a female resident of the complex calling to report the incident.

“I see a kangaroo. This is a big kangaroo,” said an unidentified woman. “We closed it in the pool gate area.”

Deputies were able to locate the animal's owner and reunite it after verifying that it was properly registered, the agency said in a Facebook post. The kangaroo and the people were not injured.
