Police charge two men with armed robbery News

Two Peel-area men have been charged in connection with several armed robberies at stores in the Greater Toronto Area.

Peel Regional Police say between Dec. 30 and Jan. 16, two masked men armed with firearms entered several stores in Toronto, Peel Region and Halton Region and demanded money and lottery tickets.

No one was injured.

The suspects were identified and arrested “thanks to the joint efforts” of police in Peel, Toronto and Halton, police said.

A 25-year-old Mississauga man has been charged with five counts of armed robbery and masked robbery. A 23-year-old Brampton man has been charged with seven counts of armed robbery and seven counts of masked robbery.

“This investigation is still ongoing and police anticipate more charges may be laid,” Peel police said in a press release Thursday afternoon.
