CBC Radio's “Metro Morning” went live from Markham on Thursday with a special show dedicated to one of Canada's most diverse cities.

CBC Radio Subway morning Live from Markham on Thursday with a special show dedicated to one of Canada's most diverse cities.

Host David Common was at the Hong Kong Cafe on Fairburn Drive, joined by a host of guests, who talked about Markham, from housing to culture.

The broadcast featured a panel discussion with an in-depth discussion on accessibility and the city's rapid growth.

Markham Mayor Frank Scarpitti joined in to talk about some aspects of the province's Bill 23. Faster Built Homes Actactually hampering the city's ability to provide basic infrastructure to new communities.

The show also heard from York Regional Police Deputy Chief Paulo Da Silva about the region's ongoing crackdown on car theft.

Subway morningFood columnist Suresh Doss was on site to highlight the best of Hong Kong's cafe offerings.
