Man points gun at two young men in north Toronto: police

Police say a man pointed a gun at two young men who were taking pictures of themselves in Vaughan, Ont., last week.

It happened on Feb. 3 at approximately 9:45 p.m. in the area of ​​Pine Valley Drive and Pine Heights Drive, York Regional Police (YRP) said in a news release issued Friday.

Police say two youths were taking pictures when the suspect came out of a nearby house and approached them. Police believe the suspect pointed a shotgun at the two young men and ordered them to leave the area.

As the youths were leaving, the suspect got into a car, pulled onto the sidewalk, cut them off and uttered “threatening words,” police said.

According to the police, one of the parents of the victims reported the incident to the police the next day.

After an investigation, police identified 44-year-old Elton Lams of Vaughan as the suspect in the alleged incident. He was charged with possession of a weapon, menacing and pointing a firearm.

Police said officers executed a search warrant at Lamche's residence, where they seized several firearms, including a shotgun.
