Ice Chips: New Jersey Devils Jack Hughes is back against the Calgary Flames

New Jersey Devils

Forward Jack Hughes returns to the lineup tonight after 11 games against the Calgary Flames.

Hughes has been sidelined since January 5 due to an upper body injury.

He scored 15 goals and 45 points in 32 games this season.


Carolina Hurricanes

Forward Andrei Svechnikov is a decision for tonight's game against the Colorado Avalanche.

The 23-year-old footballer missed the last five games due to an upper body injury. He also still missed the first eight games of the season after offseason knee surgery.

This season, he scored 11 goals and scored 30 points in 29 games.


Philadelphia Flyers

Goaltender Samuel Ersson will start tonight against the Winnipeg Jets.

The 24-year-old is 13-9-3 this season with a .900 save percentage and a 2.53 GAA.

Ersson is in the final season of his three-year, entry-level contract before a two-year, $2.9 million extension kicks in next season.

The Flyers are third in the Metropolitan Division with 58 points.


New York Islanders

Forward Kyle McLean was sent back on loan to AHL Bridgeport, and Casey Chickas was activated from injured reserve.

Goaltender Ilya Sorokin was in the starter's net at this morning's skate as the Islanders prepare to face the Tampa Bay Lightning tonight, Andrew Gross of Newsday reports.

Sorokin, 28, is 15-12-9 with a .910 save percentage and a 3.13 goals-against average.

He is in the final season of a three-year, $12 million contract before an eight-year, $66 million extension kicks in through the 2024-25 campaign.

Forward Hudson Fasching is also out with a lower body injury.

Goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky will start tonight against the Washington Capitals.

The rest of the Panthers lineup has not changed.

Bobrovsky, 35, is 23-10-2 this season with a .910 save percentage and a 2.51 GAA.
