Didsbury RCMP are looking for an 'armed and dangerous' duo

RCMP north of Calgary are asking some residents to shelter in place as it pursues two suspects who are believed to be armed and dangerous.

Didbury RCMP are trying to locate a woman and a man who were armed with a gun Friday morning west of Carstairs, investigators said.

Cpl. Troy Savinkoff told CityNews the suspects took off on foot after the getaway car they used during the break-in got stuck.

“We have them covered enough,” he said. “That said, there are some villagers in the area that we're trying to talk to.”

Police are asking residents who live between Highway 303 and Highway 580 and between Highway 15 and Highway 20 to take shelter, lock their doors and call 911 if they see anyone suspicious.

“It's important to lock your doors and stay indoors, and if you see someone in your yard or area, call 911 immediately,” Savinkoff said.

This is an evolving story.
