Charges laid after theft reported in Port Hope, Coburg | Crime

Coburg Police and Port Hope Police have charged three Toronto residents after burglaries were reported at businesses in Coburg and Port Hope on Wednesday, February 7.

Police responded to a report of a burglary in progress at a business in the area of ​​Spring and King streets in Coburg on Wednesday at approximately 12:45 p.m.

According to the news release, officers were advised that three people believed a burglary had occurred at a Port Hope business prior to the incident in Coburg.

According to police, two suspects left the Cobourg store on foot and the other in a car, which was later found on University Avenue. Numerous stolen items were recovered from the vehicle, police said.

As a result of the investigation, police arrested a 28-year-old woman, who was later charged with possession of criminal property in the amount of $5,000 and theft in the amount of $5,000.

Two other people, a 20-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman, were located a short distance from the Coburg business and were both charged with theft of less than $5,000.
